PageStreak

Track your reading journey — discover books, log progress, and keep your streak.

Features

  • Search millions of books via the Open Library catalogue
  • Book cards with cover images and details
  • Track status: Want to Read, Currently Reading, Read
  • Reading progress and a home dashboard with statistics
  • Offline-first: your library lives on your device

Frequently asked questions

A book I'm looking for doesn't show up in search.

Search results come from Open Library. Try searching by author or by a shorter part of the title. If the book still isn't there, use Add Manually to enter it yourself.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only for searching new books and loading covers. Your library, progress and notes are stored on your device and work offline.

Will my data move to a new phone?

Your data is stored locally in the app and is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer). Restoring a backup to a new device restores your library.

What happens if I delete the app?

Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from your device. Make sure you have a device backup if you want to keep your library.

Privacy

PageStreak does not require an account and does not collect personal data. Your books, progress and notes are stored only on your device. When you search, your search terms are sent to Open Library to retrieve results and cover images. No data is sold or shared with advertisers, and the app contains no tracking.

Gokalp's Reading

A calm place to read papers, books and essays on your phone — open the app and you're back inside the argument.

Features

  • Import PDFs and EPUBs from Files, or share them to Gokalp's Reading from Safari, Mail and other apps
  • PDFs reflowed into comfortable, phone-sized text — with the original page one tap away
  • arXiv papers built from the author's LaTeX source, so equations arrive as real typeset maths
  • A home shelf of six: readings to continue, new ones, and ones worth resurfacing
  • Exact resume position and re-entry cards that quote where you left off
  • Highlights, four text sizes, and light & dark appearance

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a document?

Tap + on the home screen to pick one or more files, or use the Share button in Safari, Mail or Files and choose Gokalp's Reading. Re-importing a file you already have opens your existing progress instead of creating a duplicate.

The text of a PDF looks wrong or out of order.

Some PDFs — especially scans or unusual layouts — don't convert cleanly. Tap the page number in the top bar to see the original page at any time. If a particular document reads badly, feel free to email it along with a description; it helps improve the converter.

Equations show as plain symbols instead of formatted maths.

For arXiv papers, the app uses the author's LaTeX source and equations are typeset immediately. For other PDFs, equations may appear as the plain characters from the page. The original page view always shows them exactly as printed.

Why did my home shelf change?

The shelf refreshes after a couple of minutes of reading, when you add something new, or every twelve hours. Pull down on the home screen to get a new selection right away.

How do I highlight a passage?

Long-press a paragraph while reading.

Privacy

Gokalp's Reading does not require an account and does not collect personal data. The documents you import, your reading positions and your highlights are stored only on your device. When a document is an arXiv paper, the app contacts arXiv to look up the paper and download its source. No data is sold or shared with advertisers, and the app contains no tracking.
